Job summary

Energy Strategies is seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer to join our Markets and Transmission Analysis team. This full-time role focuses on transmission planning, energy markets, and grid reliability, with a mix of modeling, data analysis, and client-facing work across North America.

You will lead power system modeling, regional studies, and interconnection analyses using PowerWorld, PSS/E, PSLF, or TARA, and develop analytical tools in Python or Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.
• 6–12+ years of relevant industry experience in transmission planning, power system modeling, or energy markets.
• Experience with power flow simulation software (Power World, PSS/E, PSLF, or similar).
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with rigorous data quality and model integrity.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for client-facing deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform bulk transmission and interconnection analyses.
• Drive regional transmission planning studies and interconnection analyses.
• Evaluate transmission system performance under high renewable penetrations and complex buildouts.
• Own and deliver studies including power flow, transfer limit, reliability, and system performance analyses.
• Translate technical results into clear insights and recommendations for clients.
