Job summary

CLP Engineering (CLPE) seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer–Power Systems for a senior role. You will influence project direction and resources, leading design for sub-transmission, substations and microgrid packages. Must be a US citizen and able to obtain security clearance.

You will mentor engineers, manage complex studies, and ensure compliance with utility standards while delivering integrated power solutions for large scale grid modernization projects.

Qualifications

• BSEE with emphasis in power systems.
• 12+ years in electric utility industry.
• 5+ years in Lead/Supervisor/PM role.
• PE License required.
• SME in power system analysis and distribution modeling.
• Proficient with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower.
• MS Project experience for time/cost/labor estimates.

Responsibilities

• Possess broad knowledge of utility power distribution systems and standards.
• Lead design of sub-transmission, substations, switching stations, and complex power distribution.
• Develop microgrid concepts with renewable and fossil assets.
• Prepare and review design reports and procedures as Lead Engineer.
• Develop electrical system models and validate study findings.
• Create electrical specifications for major apparatus.
• Mentor junior engineers and oversee project tasks.
• Maintain strong customer relationships.
• Stay current with industry standards and codes for O&M and new installations.
