Job summary

CLP Engineering (CLPE) seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer - Power Systems to lead design and analysis for subtransmission, substations, and microgrid projects. Must be a US citizen with PE license and 12+ years in electric utilities.

You'll mentor junior engineers, develop engineering packages, and coordinate with field teams on a hybrid schedule, with travel to project sites up to 25%.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with power systems emphasis.
12+ years in electric utility industry, 5+ years in lead/supervisor roles.
PE license required.
Subject matter expert in power system analysis, modeling, and protective coordination.
Expert knowledge of medium voltage substations and distribution systems.
Experience with time/cost/labor estimates in project plans.

Responsibilities

Lead design of sub-transmission systems, substations, and distribution networks.
Develop engineering packages and cost estimates for projects.
Mentor junior engineers and oversee project work.
Develop microgrid designs with renewables and fossil assets.
Review design reports and ensure compliance with standards.
