Job summary

CLP Engineering (CLPE) seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer - Power Systems to lead design and analysis for subtransmission, substations, and microgrid projects. Must be a US citizen with PE license and 12+ years in electric utilities.

You'll mentor junior engineers, develop engineering packages, and coordinate with field teams on a hybrid schedule, with travel to project sites up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with power systems emphasis.
• 12+ years in electric utility industry, 5+ years in lead/supervisor roles.
• PE license required.
• Subject matter expert in power system analysis, modeling, and protective coordination.
• Expert knowledge of medium voltage substations and distribution systems.
• Experience with time/cost/labor estimates in project plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of sub-transmission systems, substations, and distribution networks.
• Develop engineering packages and cost estimates for projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and oversee project work.
• Develop microgrid designs with renewables and fossil assets.
• Review design reports and ensure compliance with standards.
