Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Undersea & Electronics Systems (UES) Department in Portsmouth, RI. This on-site role focuses on system power and grounding designs, prototyping and troubleshooting, with opportunities for occasional travel.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree and 5+ years in power design, analog circuit design, and lab testing, and must be eligible for a U.S. security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years in related field.
• Power design experience including transformers and inductors.
• Analog circuit design, grounding and EMI considerations.
• Ability to perform waveform analysis and testing.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading reviews.

Responsibilities

• Support technical design with power system simulation and modeling.
• Hands-on testing of prototypes and troubleshooting with lab equipment.
• Participate in design reviews and trade studies to reach decisions.
• Work with limited supervision and meet schedule and technical goals.
• Occasional travel to test sites or suppliers; international travel optional.
