Job summary

Generac is seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer to design low and medium voltage switchgear and control systems. You will collaborate with clients, create detailed drawings, and develop control schemes for generator and microgrid applications.

The role requires a BSEE and 5+ years in electrical power/controls, with hands-on CAD skills and code compliance knowledge. On-site Peoria, IL location, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical power and controls.
• Knowledge of low/medium voltage power systems design and codes.
• Experience reading schematics and creating drawings in AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Design detailed electrical switchgear & control solutions per specs.
• Create BOMs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams.
• Coordinate with purchasing to specify components and assemblies.
• Develop power system control schemes including generator/SCADA.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA, NEC, UL and related codes.
