We seek a Lead or Senior Power Systems Consultant to join the PTI team, performing large-scale simulations for utilities and ISOs while mentoring colleagues and expanding our advisory and software offerings.

This remote role is based in the contiguous U.S. and requires up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience performing transmission power systems analysis, with demonstrated ability to independently execute and interpret power flow and dynamic stability studies.
• Experience with PJM, MISO, ISO-NE, NYISO, ERCOT, or SPP.
• Experience analyzing power flow and dynamic stability using PSS®E, and knowledge of at least one of TSAT, TARA, PSLF, or PowerWorld.
• Working knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards and regional planning criteria, procedures, and practices.
• Strong communication, presentation, and listening skills with demonstrated ability to write effective technical reports.
• Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Performing and leading consulting engagements related to power grid analysis and design, system dynamics and transients, system interconnection, and grid code compliance.
• Supporting and managing project execution, tracking progress, and adjusting scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Producing reports and presentations in collaboration with team members to communicate study results.
• Maintaining relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction, analyzing client requirements and identifying opportunities for further business.
• Supporting and leading proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines.
• Supporting technical reviews of ongoing studies and mentoring junior consultants.
• Developing automation scripts to streamline repetitive tasks and boost efficiency.
• Delivering on-site consulting and training services.
