Job summary

Siemens Energy seeks a Senior Power Systems Consultant to shape North America's electric grid. You will lead technically challenging studies across transmission planning, HVDC, renewable integration, BESS, and large-scale data center interconnections, working with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and developers.

You will mentor engineers, guide interconnection processes, and contribute to proposals and strategic initiatives while delivering reliable, sustainable grid solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of transmission-level power system studies experience.
• Expertise in load flow, short-circuit, transient/voltage stability, and transmission planning.
• Experience with generator interconnection, system impact, and grid compliance studies in North American utility environments.
• Proficiency with industry-leading tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, PowerFactory, PSLF, and ASPEN.
• Authorized to work in the United States or Canada.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute advanced power system studies supporting transmission planning, generation interconnection, grid modernization, including HVDC, FACTS, renewable energy, BESS, and data center interconnections.
• Perform detailed power system analyses including load flow, short-circuit, transient and voltage stability, protection coordination, transfer capability, and dynamic performance assessments.
• Conduct electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies focusing on switching transients, harmonics, TRV, insulation coordination, and power quality assessments.
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers, guiding interconnection processes and engagements with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, developers, and regulators.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, contribute to proposals, technical strategy, and business growth.
