Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to lead probabilistic planning studies under current and forecasted system conditions. You will develop robust, low-cost solutions and interface with ISO-NE and regional stakeholders to enable growth, while coordinating with vendors and presenting results in reports and presentations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of experience in planning or related roles.

Qualifications

• Experience with transmission planning, software simulations, IBR modeling, and transient analysis.
• Experience applying electrical theory to planning an electric power supply system.
• Experience using power system modeling and simulation software for steady state power flow, voltage, short circuit, stability, and electromagnetic transients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and present scenario and probabilistic based planning studies.
• Provide engineering input for robust, low-cost solutions.
• Coordinate with ISO-NE and stakeholders to mitigate electric system needs.
• Prepare engineering output and summarize in reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups on long-range planning standards and criteria.
• Work emergency restoration assignments as needed.
