Job summary

Xcel Energy in Texas seeks a contract-focused professional to negotiate and administer long-term power purchase agreements with independent power producers, aligning with customer needs and portfolio optimization.

You will support legal counsel, manage contract terms, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and help bring facilities online while maintaining strong relationships with IPPs and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, economics, finance, or similar.
• Minimum 2 years energy industry experience including contract or asset management and power procurement matters.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in system operations, regulatory affairs, contract law or planning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and administer long-term power purchase agreements and related documents, coordinating with legal counsel.
• Manage and monitor contract terms and ensure counterparty compliance across IPP facilities.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to bring facilities online as contracted and ensure service delivery.
• Maintain relationships with IPPs and internal stakeholders; identify solutions to contract issues and improve value.
• Assist with internal approvals, regulatory filings, and drafting testimony and responses to interrogatories.
