Job summary

Entergy is seeking a talented Project Engineer to join the Power Development engineering team in New Orleans. You will drive engineering design, standards, and constructible outcomes for new gas generation projects, collaborating with project managers, SMEs, EPCs, and regulatory bodies.

The role requires 10+ years in engineering design, construction, or operations for power systems, with strong writing and communication skills. A PE license and PMP are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in project engineering or power-generation design/construction.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Expert knowledge of engineering fundamentals in at least one discipline.
• PE license and PMP certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Promotes safe behavior and adheres to safety rules.
• Develops and maintains engineering design standards for new generation projects.
• Evaluates technical proposals to meet Entergy standards.
• Supports regulatory submittals and interfaces with regulators.
• Leads cross-functional teams with SMEs, EPC contractors, and consultants.
• Ensures engineering documentation supports audits and reviews.
• Manages engineering design reviews for compliance with permits and codes.
• Coordinates with Project Managers to follow project delivery systems.
• Participates in contractor/vendor selection based on engineering experience.
• Maintains open-book engineering processes with value engineering.
• Supports change-management processes.
