Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to oversee commissioning and startup activities for large‑scale natural gas fired power facilities. You will lead multi‑discipline teams, ensure safe energization, and drive readiness for commercial operation.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 15+ years in commissioning or startup on thermal power or heavy industrial facilities. Travel and on‑site leadership across multiple locations are expected.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience leading commissioning, startup, or operations readiness on thermal power generation or heavy industrial facilities.
• Able to intervene and correct unsafe situations within a strong safety culture.
• Collaborative, agile, and resilient mindset with multi‑discipline leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily commissioning execution across mechanical, electrical, controls, and process systems.
• Review system boundaries with engineering and third parties and develop start‑up sequences.
• Provide input to third‑party commissioning plans and turnover strategies.
• Oversee commissioning of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, HRSG/boiler, pumps, and related systems.
• Coordinate with construction to validate mechanical completion and turnover packages.
• Validate activities by vendors, OEMs, and contractors to meet project expectations.
• Manage spares strategy and pre‑operational activities and risk scenarios.
• Lead multi‑discipline subcontractors across fuel gas, steam, condensate, controls, and protection systems.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, OEM requirements, and industry standards.
• Drive final turnover, test reports, and commissioning records for commercial operation.
