Job summary

Jacobs in the United States is seeking a Senior Commissioning Lead to oversee multi-disciplinary testing and start-up activities for thermal power and heavy industrial projects. You will coordinate with engineering, construction, and OEM teams to ensure safe, on-schedule commissioning and system turnover.

The role requires 15+ years of commissioning leadership, a strong safety culture, and proven ability to drive complex projects with SIMOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering or equivalent.
• 15+ years leading commissioning/startup on thermal power generation or heavy industrial facilities.
• Strong safety culture with ability to intervene in unsafe situations.
• Proven leadership of multi-discipline commissioning teams across fast-track projects.
• Experience with SIMOPs/phased projects and system turnover documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily commissioning execution across mechanical, electrical, controls, and process systems.
• Review system boundaries and develop start-up sequences with engineering leadership and 3rd parties.
• Contribute to commissioning plans, checklists, and turnover strategies aligned with milestones.
• Oversee commissioning of gas turbines, HRSG/boiler, pumps, turbines, and auxiliary systems.
• Coordinate with construction to validate completion, punch lists, and ITRs.
• Validate activities by 3rd party vendors, OEMs, and contractors.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and risk assessments.
• Lead system walkdowns, testing, and performance verification.
• Interface with client/OEM/regulatory bodies during testing and acceptance.
• Manage punch-list closure and final turnover documentation.
