Job summary

Jacobs Solutions Inc. seeks an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Manager to oversee commissioning and startup activities for large‑scale natural gas fired power facilities.

You will manage multi‑discipline teams, ensure safe energization, and drive system readiness for commercial operation. The role requires deep knowledge of power plant systems, strong field leadership, and a track record of delivering complex commissioning programs in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience in power plant commissioning/startup.
• 15+ years of experience leading commissioning, startup, or operations readiness on thermal power generation or heavy industrial facilities.
• Strong safety culture with ability to intervene and correct unsafe situations.
• Collaborative, agile, and resilient mindset for fast-paced projects.
• Experience leading commissioning on multiple fast-track/schedule-driven projects.
• Experience with integrated SIMOPs phased projects across construction, commissioning, and operation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily commissioning execution across mechanical, electrical, controls, and process systems, ensuring safe energization and testing.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership and 3rd parties to develop start-up and turnover sequences for each system.
• Validate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities by 3rd party vendors, OEMs, and contractors to meet project expectations.
• Oversee commissioning of gas turbines, HRSG/boiler systems, pumps, and auxiliary balance-of-plant systems.
• Coordinate with construction teams to validate mechanical completion, punch list closure, and turnover packages.
