Job summary

JE Dunn Construction’s Advanced Facilities Group seeks a Project Director, Power Market to lead the delivery of natural gas and thermal power generation projects. This role provides strategic oversight across all lifecycle phases, ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality objectives while maintaining client relationships and managing risk.

Extensive travel is required, with preferred locations in Atlanta or Kansas City, but flexible based on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
• 15+ years construction management experience.
• 5+ years people management experience.
• Proven track record leading major power generation projects.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction and leadership for the assigned project or work program across all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Safety Leadership: Leads all aspects of the company’s safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment.
• Corporate Leadership: Assists senior management with strategy development; develops and supports company-wide initiatives, best practices and policies.
• Strategy Development and Implementation: Provides strategic direction to team members in light of broader work program strategic plans across all areas of the project lifecycle.
• Client Relationship Management: Serves as the primary client relationship executive at a leadership level and builds long-term relationships for the assigned work program.
• Risk Management & Issue Resolution: Serves as escalation point for risks and negotiates change orders and contingency expenditures.
• Partner Relationship & Strategy: Builds long-term partnerships with subcontractors and engineers to meet project goals.
• Preconstruction: Leads preconstruction discussions with clients and internal/external teams to develop contractual obligations.
• Project & Schedule Review: Ensures project components and schedules meet contractual obligations and expectations.
• Resource Management: Plans staffing levels and adapts resources as needed to achieve results.
• Community & Industry Engagement: Represents the organization in boards and industry relationships.
• Leads a culture of diversity and inclusion and adheres to non-discrimination policies.
