Job summary

Staffing Technical Services Inc. is seeking a Senior Power Engineer for utility interconnection projects, including generator, load, BESS, microgrid, and IBR interconnections. The role covers interconnection study through energization in a 100% remote arrangement across utility and industrial markets.

The candidate will perform protective relay design, coordination, and HV/MV studies, while coordinating with utilities, developers, and ISOs/RTOs. PE license and E.E. degree are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive utility interconnection or power systems engineering experience with protection & control design.
• PE license in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience supporting engineering delivery on MV/HV interconnection projects (generation interconnection, substation, or energy storage).
• Hands-on protective relay experience (SEL or equivalent).
• Direct experience with LGIA/SGIA processes and interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform interconnection analysis and design for generators, loads, and BESS at MV/HV levels.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate interconnection designs with substations and grid infrastructure.
• Develop protection, control philosophies and relay coordination per utility requirements.
• Prepare POI diagrams, metering schemes, and switching layouts.
• Support LGIA/SGIA processes and utility coordination.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to produce drawings.
• Prepare project design/construction documents and progress reports.
• Support testing, commissioning, and energization activities.
• Lead technical reviews and client/utilities presentations.
