Job summary

Vantage Point Solutions seeks a Senior Power Generation Engineer to lead its power generation practice. You will guide technical excellence, mentor staff, and support client engagements across generation, transmission, and grid modernization initiatives.

The role emphasizes project leadership, EOR responsibilities when needed, and strong collaboration with utilities. A PE license and a power-focused Electrical Engineering degree are required, with extensive experience in coal and gas plant

Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of electrical power systems including generation, transmission, substation design, and protection and control systems.
Specialization in control systems is preferred.
Experience in design of coal-fired and natural gas power generation plants.
Experience using industry-standard engineering design software.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working with electric utilities or electric cooperatives is required.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for the power generation engineering practice and oversee complex projects.
Mentor engineering staff and support business development efforts.
Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) when required and ensure deliverables meet safety standards and codes.
Manage project delivery timelines and budgets while maintaining client satisfaction.
Engage with clients to identify opportunities for grid modernization and renewable integration.
