Job summary

ExxonMobil’s Americas Gas & Power Trading group seeks a Sr. Financial Power Trader to lead a point-of-view power book across ERCOT, MISO South, and PJM. You will trade across power curves, spreads, and heat rates with a cross-functional team and strong risk controls.

You will collaborate with analytics, gas traders and risk to scale a high-capacity platform, anchored by quantitative tools and fundamental insight.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of financial power trading experience with direct P&L and a proven track record.
• Deep grounding in North American power markets: generation stack dynamics, renewables, load, weather and ISO design.
• Experience creating and managing forward fixed price, heat rate and basis curves.
• Ability to work with Quant teams building Python-based pricing and risk tools.

Responsibilities

• Run a point-of-view driven financial power book across ERCOT, MISO South Region, and PJM.
• Develop trading strategies capturing gas-power linkages using Exxon’s positions and view.
• Partner with Analytics to build quantitative tools and models for generation stack, renewables, load, congestion.
• Manage risk across volatility, spreads, basis and direction with disciplined sizing.
• Collaborate with gas traders, analytics, origination and risk teams to reflect full information in the power book.
• Contribute to scaling the power trading capability as the platform grows.
