Job summary

Ultimate Staffing is seeking a hands-on Power Electronics Engineering Manager to lead the electrical engineering team responsible for high-power motor drives and power conversion products from concept to production. You will shape architecture, drive hardware platforms, and collaborate across firmware, test, and manufacturing to meet efficiency, thermal, cost, and reliability targets.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering and power electronics design experience with leadership.
Experience with industrial motor drives and/or power conversion products.
Strong background in analog closed-loop control design for power supplies and motor drives.
Experience with mixed-signal power electronics up to ~800 V and ~500 A.
Hands-on design of linear and switching power supplies and associated magnetics.
Proficiency with SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink (or Mathcad) for modeling.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop the electrical engineering team with oversight of PCB engineering and a mechanical team.
Set technical direction for power electronics architecture and hardware platforms.
Architect and review power stages for servo drives and AC/DC conversion topologies.
Guide gate drive circuits, sensing, protection, and analog front-end conditioning.
Oversee development of analog control loops and filters for power conversion.
Drive EMI/EMC strategies and grounding, shielding, and layout decisions.
Oversee power supply design (isolated/non-isolated) across power and control domains.
Perform loss, thermal, and derating analyses; verify design margins via testing.
Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and manufacturing-aligned design standards.
Staff and prioritize across electrical/PCB functions; coordinate with mechanical team.
