Job summary

Cindavi in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to advance inverter technology for high-performance electric motors used in demanding applications. You will balance power density, thermal performance, reliability, and response time in real-world lab, dyno, and customer environments.

You will split focus between new inverter platforms and existing systems, collaborating with software, controls, mechanical, electromagnetic, and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in power electronics.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience; 6–8+ years for senior level.
• Hands-on experience designing inverter hardware and high-power systems.
• Knowledge of power converter topologies, gate-drive design, motor control, HV, EMC, and thermal considerations.
• Strong communication, ownership, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Willingness to work onsite in Minneapolis, MN and travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-power-density inverters and related power electronics for specialty electric motor systems.
• Own meaningful portions of power-stage and inverter hardware design, analysis, implementation, and improvement.
• Test and validate systems in our in-house lab using dynamometers and advanced test infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot fielded units and support rapid iteration during dyno tests, track days, and customer programs.
• Partner with software, controls, mechanical, electromagnetic, and project engineering teammates to deliver complete system solutions.
• Help shape next-generation platforms while improving the reliability and performance of existing products.
