Job summary

Cindavi is hiring a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to advance inverter technology for high-performance electric motors used in Formula 1, Formula E, and demanding applications. The role focuses on power-stage design, testing in our lab, and field support, with significant visibility and impact.

You will split time between developing next-generation inverter systems and supporting proven technology in the field. Onsite in Minneapolis with potential international travel is included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in power electronics.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience; 6–8+ years for senior role.
• Hands-on inverter hardware design experience with high-power systems.
• Knowledge of power converter topologies, gate-drive, motor control, HV systems, EMC, and thermal considerations.
• Strong communication, ownership, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Willingness to work onsite in Eden Prairie and travel internationally for track/dyno/customer support.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-power-density inverters and related power electronics for specialty electric motor systems.
• Own meaningful portions of power-stage and inverter hardware design, analysis, implementation, and improvement.
• Test and validate systems in our in-house lab using back-to-back motor dynamometers and advanced test infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot fielded units and support rapid iteration during dyno tests, track days, and customer programs.
• Partner with software, controls, mechanical, electromagnetic, and project engineering teammates to deliver complete system solutions.
• Help shape next-generation platforms while improving reliability and performance of existing products.
