General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Technologies team in Rancho Bernardo. You will lead development of high‑power power electronics, motor drives, and space/defense systems, guiding complex projects from concept through production.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of experience in power electronics, strong circuit design skills, and the ability to secure a DoD secret clearance.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor, Master, or PhD in engineering or related field with progressive engineering experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
• Experience in power electronics; pulsed power; analog and digital circuit design.
• Desirable: power systems, power supplies, multiphase DC-DC converters; embedded controls; design through development to production.
• Knowledge of DoD technical review processes (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
• Proficiency with tools: PCB design, SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and related design tools.

Aufgaben

• Develop power electronics for HEL systems, sensors, and space-based laser comms.
• Improve legacy systems and develop new ones.
• Create electrical architectures and perform analyses, document results, present to teams.
• Lead cross-functional teams on high-power batteries, compact converters, or space systems.
• Serve as prime technical contact on projects and ensure safety and schedule goals.
