Job summary

IEM in Houston, TX seeks a Sales Engineer to drive the sale of MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, and panelboards through direct channels. You will develop medium/large contractor accounts and craft complete bills of material for customers.

The territory covers the Houston area, with a remote office base. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in the Houston electrical equipment market and strong relationships with contractors, end users, or distributors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years in selling power distribution equipment (MV/LV).
• Proven ability to negotiate mid-to-large project orders.
• Experience creating detailed project proposals with MV/LV switchgear and non-IEM products.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Salesforce experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales Director to establish and execute an account plan.
• Identify and build relationships with key account influencers.
• Understand the client buying process and articulate it clearly.
• Engage in revenue opportunities within defined accounts.
• Capture client challenges and requirements for proposals.
• Develop proposals meeting client needs using IEM and third-party products.
• Follow the client journey to respond and propose.
• Oversee handover to Platform Execution team.
• Maintain oversight of commercial engagements for customer success.
• Know the client’s business and articulates value and risk.
• Know IEM products and services to articulate value.
• Advocate for the account within IEM and with client organization.
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders for account execution.
• Forecasting and capacity planning input for Sales Director.
