Placements24 is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Distribution to join their team in East London. You will design, plan, and oversee electrical distribution networks, ensuring reliable delivery of power to residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

Key responsibilities include overseeing substations, feeders, protection schemes, and upgrades, with a focus on grid code compliance and effective project management across infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in electrical power distribution engineering.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (ETAP, PSS/E, PowerFactory).
• Strong knowledge of distribution equipment, protection relays, and grid codes.
• Experience with project management and contract administration for infrastructure projects.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical distribution systems, including substations, feeders, and protection schemes.
• Conduct load flow studies, fault analysis, and reliability assessments for distribution networks.
• Develop project specifications, drawings, and technical documentation for network upgrades and new installations.
• Oversee the construction and commissioning of distribution infrastructure, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to power distribution system performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with regulatory bodies, utility providers, and stakeholders on system planning and operational matters.
