Placements24 is seeking a Distribution Network Engineer to join the team in East London. You will plan, design, and manage projects to expand and upgrade the electrical distribution network serving the Eastern Cape region.

Responsibilities include load flow analysis, fault studies, and ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards. Collaboration with field crews and stakeholders is essential to maintain reliable service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical distribution network design and operations.
• Proficiency with CYME and ETAP Distribution.
• Knowledge of distribution equipment, protection schemes, and voltage regulation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in the Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and manage projects for expansion and upgrade of the electrical distribution network.
• Conduct load flow analyses, fault studies, and network stability assessments.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate and resolve power quality issues and customer supply interruptions.
• Develop and maintain network maps, asset databases, and engineering docs.
• Collaborate with field crews and stakeholders to ensure efficient operation and maintenance in East London.
