Job summary

Vertiv in Anderson, SC, seeks a Sr. Manager, Application Engineering – Power Distribution to lead the AE team supporting MV switchgear, LVS and Busway solutions.

You translate customer requirements into manufacturable, compliant, and competitive designs while guiding proposal development and cost estimating. The role partners with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure NEC/ANSI/IEEE, UL, NEMA, IEC standards compliance and to drive improvements in process and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 8 years in electrical power distribution, switchgear, busway or related equipment.
• Experience leading or supervising an engineering team.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV power distribution systems and standards.
• Experience developing technical proposals and cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage the Application Engineering team for MV/LV switchgear and Busway.
• Provide technical leadership for product selection, configuration, and customer-specific solutions.
• Translate customer specs into practical, manufacturable designs.
• Lead technical proposals, include scope, exceptions, and risk; support cost estimates.
• Assist Sales with technical discussions, proposals, and value-engineering options.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, ANSI/IEEE, UL, NEMA, IEC standards.
• Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to validate capability, cost, and risks.
• Establish consistent AE processes, standards, and review requirements.
