Job summary

ABB is seeking a field service professional to perform installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance on Power Delivery equipment across the US. You will lead outages, coordinate with contractors, and support project execution while generating technical reports and ordering materials.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting of medium voltage equipment, and requires travel up to 75% with responsibilities spanning training, reporting, and customer-facing activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 8 years of related engineering / field experience.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to an estimated 75% of the time.
• Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers is preferred.
• Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on execution of projects including Startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment.
• Lead outages with other field engineers, technicians, and contractors including project management, lead site engineer or site project manager.
• Perform administrative functions such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, and time/expense sheets.
• Plan, prepare, and/or instruct training programs to impart field engineering and product knowledge.
