Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a remote-based field engineer to lead hands-on projects in Power Delivery, including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment. You will coordinate outages with teams and prepare technical reports, quotations, and status updates.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and 8 years of related engineering/field experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
• Experience in repair/refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers preferred.
• Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of medium voltage synchronous machines preferred.
• Must have work authorization to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for hands-on execution of projects including startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, engineering, design, and repair of Power Delivery equipment.
• Lead outages with field engineers, technicians, and contractors including project management and reporting.
• Plan, prepare, and/or instruct training programs to impart field knowledge.
• Prepare job status reports and perform administrative tasks such as time sheets and expense reports.
