Insight Global seeks a Staff Engineer to join the Power Delivery team, guiding electrical utility distribution projects. The role balances technical lead duties with client engagement and mentoring junior engineers across a portfolio of distribution initiatives.

This direct-hire, hybrid position requires residing in the local area or relocation readiness, with a focus on overhead/underground distribution systems and adherence to utility standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical or Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in electric utility distribution or power delivery projects.
• Experience designing overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Understanding of utility standards and NESC requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and design for overhead and underground distribution projects.
• Develop and review calculations, construction packages, specs, and reports.
• Serve as technical resource for project teams and mentors.
• Support modernization initiatives, grid hardening, and system expansions.
• Coordinate with PMs, designers, field personnel, clients, and subs Contractors.
• Review designs for compliance with standards and codes.
• Perform load analysis, conductor sizing, voltage drop, and equipment sizing.
• Assist in scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and risk tracking.
• Support construction with technical reviews and RFIs.
