Job summary

Emerson’s Power and Water Solutions team in Cranberry Township, PA seeks a Senior Controls Engineer – Power Retrofits to design and deliver DCS-based modernization projects across North America. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and customers to ensure system performance, safety, and quality while growing technical ownership.

The role requires hands-on engineering, relocation flexibility, and up to 20% travel within North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably in power generation or industrial environments.
• Experience designing, implementing, or supporting control systems using DCS and/or PLC platforms.
• Ability to be based in the Greater Pittsburgh area or relocate, with willingness to travel up to 20% within North America.
• Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the application design and engineering execution of power retrofit projects
• Develop high-quality engineering deliverables that meet customer requirements for safety, quality, schedule, and performance
• Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, customers, and architect/engineering (A/E) firms to support system design and technical alignment
• Participate in Design Review Meetings, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and onsite system commissioning activities
• Support development and tracking of engineering plans and project documentation
• Assist with identifying and resolving technical issues, escalating as appropriate
• Apply and follow established engineering standards, tools, and best practices
• Support customer presentations and proposal development as needed
