Job summary

PowerX is seeking a P&C Lead Test Engineer to lead testing, commissioning, validation and operational integration of protection and control systems across transmission, distribution and generation substations. You will mentor field staff, ensure safe, reliable operation, and adhere to utility standards and PowerX commissioning philosophy.

Qualifications

• Lead relay protection testing and commissioning activities.
• Proficient with IEC 61850 networks and SCADA integration.
• Experience with protection philosophies and relay settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation across substations.
• Perform and oversee relay protection testing on Doble, Omicron, RTS, AcSELerator, Enervista platforms.
• Validate protection and control systems including line, transformer, bus, and feeder protections.
• Execute end-to-end testing of relay protection, SCADA, RTUs, and IEC 61850 networks.
• Interpret relay logic, fault behavior, and oscillography to identify risks.
• Read and validate diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts.
• Support energization, restoration, and turnover within energized substations up to 500kV.
• Lead commissioning projects coordinating with PM, engineering, construction, and client operations.
