Job summary

Verizon Connect is seeking an experienced Database Administrator in the Atlanta, GA region to join our Global Database Services team. The role focuses on owning incidents, managing production changes, and ensuring high availability for large-scale PostgreSQL and MySQL deployments.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of DBA experience, strong SQL/PLSQL skills, and automation scripting (PowerShell/Python). This hybrid role requires some on-site presence in the Atlanta area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant Database administration experience in a large data environment.
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL and MySQL databases and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Owning, tracking and resolving database incidents and requests.
• Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs.
• Reviewing backups, maintenance, and monitoring reports to identify issues.
• Responding to alerts and escalations; coordinating with engineering for solutions.
• Enhancing automation for database provisioning and monitoring.
