Job summary

Verizon Connect is hiring a Database Administrator in the Atlanta region to join the Global Database Services team. The role focuses on incident ownership, SLA-bound resolutions, backups, monitoring, and proactive problem management in a high-transaction OLTP environment.

You will work in a hybrid setting with planned office days and remote work, collaborating with database engineering to improve automation and performance across large data platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant database administration experience in a large data environment.
• Deep understanding of SQL Server database architecture and internal components.

Responsibilities

• Owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests.
• Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs.
• Reviewing backups, maintenance, and monitoring to identify issues and resolve promptly.
• Responding to alerts and escalations and working with engineering on recurring problems.
• Enhancing automation for database provisioning and monitoring.
