Job summary

Snowflake is building a world class OLTP service on Postgres. We’re hiring Senior Postgres Engineers to help build the new Snowflake Postgres service, a large-scale, multi-cloud offering with an existing customer base.

As a Senior Postgres Engineer you will develop orchestration layers, work with AWS/Azure/GCP APIs, and ensure high availability, data protection, and performance at scale. Join a team of highly skilled engineers shaping the future of data and AI.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing and building large-scale production systems.
• Distributed, highly available, fault-tolerant services experience.
• Strong understanding of OS concepts, multi-threading, memory and I/O.
• Solid CS fundamentals and algorithmic thinking.
• Proficiency in Java, Python/Ruby, and Go.
• Experience running large Postgres servers and tuning them.
• Familiar with cloud networking (VPC, PrivateLink, Peering).
• Able to work with remote, distributed teams and communicate clearly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop orchestration layer / control-plane for large-scale databases.
• Work with AWS, Azure, and GCP APIs.
• Build high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Tune Postgres to operate at scale for large datasets.
• Secure and protect customer data.
• Collaborate with top engineers to redefine the space across software layers.
