Job summary

Snowflake is seeking an Engineering Manager to define the architecture for a cloud-native, managed PostgreSQL service. You will lead the Postgres dataplane and orchestration/control plane, ensuring high availability and strong performance at scale.

You will guide a high-performing engineering team, balance long-term strategy with immediate business priorities, and collaborate across teams to deliver robust, secure systems for Snowflake’s customers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems or cloud services.
• 3+ years leading high-performing engineering teams (managers varyingly included).
• Proven track record delivering resilient, production-grade systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across Postgres dataplane and orchestration/control plane for a managed service.
• Break problems down, build consensus, and drive scalable, timely solutions.
• Balance long-term strategy with immediate business needs and roadmap delivery.
• Ensure availability, durability, performance, and security of services.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align on architecture and influence decisions.
