About the Role

Our client, a prestigious production company specializing in high-quality documentaries and film, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Post-Production Supervisor to lead their post-production operations in Upington, Northern Cape . This role is central to overseeing the entire post-production workflow, from editing and color grading to sound mixing and final delivery, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of excellence, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional organizational skills, a comprehensive understanding of post-production technologies and workflows, and a proven track record of managing complex projects. This is a critical opportunity to manage post-production for significant creative projects in the unique setting of Upington .

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all aspects of the post-production process, including editing, color grading, visual effects integration, sound design, mixing, and mastering. Develop and maintain efficient post-production workflows and schedules for multiple projects simultaneously. Manage post-production budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource allocation. Collaborate closely with directors, producers, editors, and other post-production staff to achieve the creative vision. Ensure adherence to technical specifications and delivery requirements for various platforms and broadcasters. Source and manage post-production facilities, vendors, and freelance talent as needed. Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the post-production phase. Maintain high standards of quality control for all delivered media. Stay current with advancements in post-production technology and workflows. Provide leadership and guidance to the post-production team.

Requirements

A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in post-production, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or management role within film, television, or documentary production. Proven track record of successfully managing complex post-production pipelines from start to finish. In-depth knowledge of non-linear editing systems (e.g., Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro), color correction software (e.g., DaVinci Resolve), and audio mixing platforms. Understanding of file-based workflows, codecs, and delivery formats. Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Experience managing budgets and negotiating with vendors. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent extensive professional experience. Must be willing to work full-time on-site in Upington, Northern Cape .
