Placements24 seeks a Senior Cinematographer and Visual Storyteller for projects around Welkom, Free State. You will own the visual narrative, collaborate with directors, and lead camera and lighting teams across shoots.

About the Role

Our client, a dynamic independent film production house, is seeking a highly talented and experienced Senior Cinematographer and Visual Storyteller to contribute to their upcoming projects based in and around Welkom, Free State. This role demands a keen artistic eye, technical mastery, and a passion for crafting compelling visual narratives. You will be responsible for the entire visual aspect of film productions, from conceptualization to final execution, working closely with directors to bring their visions to life. The ideal candidate will have a proven portfolio showcasing exceptional lighting, composition, and camera work across various genres. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with directors to develop and execute the visual style and concept for film projects.
• Operate cameras and lighting equipment to capture high-quality footage according to artistic and technical specifications.

• Plan and execute lighting schemes to achieve desired moods and aesthetics.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a Cinematographer or Director of Photography.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in lighting, composition, camera movement, and visual storytelling across diverse film projects.
• In-depth knowledge of various camera systems, lenses, lighting equipment, and grip gear.
• Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing production demands.
• Excellent understanding of color theory, grading, and post-production workflows.

• Proficiency in digital cinema workflows.
• Creative problem-solving abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
