Job summary

Western Alliance Bank in Costa Mesa, CA seeks a Vice President, Portfolio Manager to analyze, structure, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of major and complex loans in line with lending policies. You will work with the Vice President, Commercial Banker to monitor credit risks and help meet regional goals.

This role requires 6+ years in portfolio management, a bachelor’s degree, strong regulatory knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Portfolio Management or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Knowledge of banking operations, loan administration and treasury management.
• Knowledge of regulatory/legal compliance obligations and banking standards.
• Knowledge of commercial credit structuring and pricing dynamics; credit training completed.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interface with clients to assess credit needs and determine analysis requirements.
• Present financing requests to senior management or Loan Committee for approval.
• Coordinate processing of approved loans and ensure compliance with policies.
• Provide superior customer service and follow-through with customers and staff.
• Handle underwriting, portfolio management, and upkeep tasks for new and existing loans.
