Job summary

Western Alliance Bank in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Vice President, Portfolio Manager to lead analysis, underwriting and closing of major loans in line with bank policies. You will coordinate with the Commercial Banker to manage credit risk and structure credits for approval.

The role requires 6+ years in portfolio management, a bachelor’s degree, strong communication, and solid knowledge of commercial credit, loan structuring and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of related experience in Portfolio Management or similar field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring, and pricing dynamics. Credit analyst training completed.
• Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, structure, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of major and complex loans in compliance with lending policies and procedures.
• Work with the Commercial Banker to manage loans and monitor credit risks.
• Assist in attaining bank, region, and branch goals through underwriting and closing desirable credits.
• Coordinate processing of approved loans to ensure conformity with agreements and customer needs.
• Provide excellent customer service and follow-up with clients and staff.
• Handle underwriting, portfolio management and related tasks for new and existing loan requests.
