Job summary

Ginkgo Residential LLC seeks a Portfolio Controller to oversee property-level accounting and financial reporting for its growing multifamily portfolio, reporting to the CFO and leading a team of four. Responsibilities include the monthly close, financial statements, GL integrity, and cash management in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA designation required.
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including real estate or multifamily accounting.
• Prior experience leading a property accounting team.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close for the multifamily portfolio.
• Oversee preparation and review of property-level financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flows).
• Ensure accurate recording of rental revenue, operating expenses, capex, debt activity and other property-level transactions.
• Review GL activity, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets and intercompany transactions.
• Maintain property books per GAAP and accounting policies; establish internal controls.
• Coordinate accounting activities for property onboarding/offboarding.
• Support annual audit and tax return prep and required schedules.
