Job summary

Confidential Search is seeking a Portfolio Controller onsite in Columbia, MD to ensure GAAP-compliant financials for a portfolio of properties and to strengthen internal controls in support of SOX 404.

You will review monthly NOI, monitor leasing activity, develop budgets and forecasts, analyze variances, and coordinate with property and asset managers to resolve issues across 25–35 buildings and about 100 leases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting required.
• Active CPA license required.
• Five to seven years of accounting experience required, with at least 2 years property accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain historical books and records for a portfolio of properties in compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Review lease documents and identify accounting issues; calculate straight-line rent and adjust revenues/expenses accordingly.
• Prepare budgeting and re-forecasting for NOI and capital expenditures; provide variance analysis and management reporting.
