Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking an experienced Sleep Polysomnographic Technologist to oversee the Sleep Disorders Lab operations, score overnight polysomnograms and perform MSLT and specialized sleep studies. The role serves as a resource to staff and physicians, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to standards.

The candidate brings a minimum of three years as an RPSGT with BLS certification, and must be capable of lifting 75–100 pounds and handling up to 30 pounds.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years experience as an RPSGT performing and scoring sleep studies.
• RPSGT certification and Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to lift 75–100 pounds and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Experience interpreting polysomnograms and generating reports.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data according to the current AASM standard.
• Scores sleep/wake stages by approved guidelines.
• Score clinical events per center protocols.
• Generate accurate reports and discuss results with lab physicians.
• Provide QA feedback and staff education as needed.
• Complete monthly Inter-scorer Reliability Exams.
• Deliver care at an appropriate level for patient age groups.
• Support department managers in patient care, satisfaction, and service recovery.
• Provide in-service training and orientation to Sleep Lab personnel.
• Monitor polysomnogram during testing and prepare detailed summaries.
• Ensure safety for patients, staff and visitors; adhere to policies.
• Promote professional growth; act as preceptor and mentor.
• Model Memorial Hermann service standards; other duties as assigned.
