Job summary

American Heart Association seeks a Senior Policy Analyst for Tobacco, Systems of Care. You will research, write, and report on an assigned policy portfolio, translating science into policy and developing content for briefs and statements to support advocacy at state and federal levels.

The role involves managing writing processes, engaging with coalitions, presenting at meetings, and traveling up to 10% as needed. Heart U training and a comprehensive benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or similar degree in Health Science, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, Political Science, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years translating science into public policy.
• Proficient knowledge of health policy issues including public health and tobacco prevention.

Responsibilities

• Translates science into policy for assigned issues for state/federal advocacy.
• Contributes to policy papers, briefs, and position statements.
• Reviews and analyzes research to support policy positions.
• Represents policy research in interdepartmental groups and at conferences.
