The American Heart Association seeks a Senior Policy Analyst, Tobacco, Systems of Care in Washington, DC (home-based is acceptable). You will research, write, and report on an assigned policy portfolio and develop content to build support for advocacy at community, state, and federal levels.

You will translate science into policy, prepare briefs and position statements, manage external relationships, and represent the Association at conferences.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in a health or policy field and several years of policy translation experience.
• Proficient knowledge of health policy issues including public health and tobacco prevention.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build external relationships with agencies and coalitions.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, and to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 10%.

Mansioni

• Translates science into policy for state/federal advocacy and develops policy briefs and statements.
• Manages the writing process and coordinates with experts and writing groups.
• Reviews research for relevance to policy positions.
• Represents policy research in interdepartmental groups and at conferences.
• Supports Advocacy Coordinating Committee by providing materials and liaison with volunteers.
