Job summary

The Council of State Governments Justice Center is seeking a Senior Policy Analyst to provide senior-level policy expertise and independent project contributions within the Impact pillar. The role manages multiple priorities with minimal oversight, delivers policy advice and analysis, and leads project deliverables in collaboration with practitioners and agency leaders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent education and training.
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
• Ability to actively provide and drive new project ideas that contribute to strategic direction.
• Advanced knowledge of the research literature, policy landscape and best practices in criminal justice.
• Demonstrated success with policy formulation, analysis or advocacy.
• Leading policy/practice expert in facilitating strategic meetings with stakeholders.
• Meeting facilitator experience with diverse stakeholders (state/local officials, peers).
• Proven project management across one or more projects.
• Ability to document project activities in PM systems and reporting tools.
• Commitment to public service with civility and nonpartisanship.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to at least one policy area from initial concept through programmatic work.
