Job summary

The Senior Policy Analyst at The Council of State Governments Justice Center will provide senior-level policy expertise and contribute to multiple initiatives within the Impact and Engagement pillars. You will manage priorities with minimal oversight and deliver results in collaboration with practitioners and agency leaders.

The role requires strong policy analysis skills, a proactive approach to new ideas, and the ability to translate complex data into clear narratives for varied audiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent education and training.
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
• Ability to drive new project ideas aligned with strategic goals.
• Advanced knowledge of criminal justice policy, behavioral health, housing, or related fields.
• Experience as a leading policy/practice expert in facilitating strategic meetings.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight and meet deadlines.
• Provide policy advice and analysis relied on by the field and project team.
• Lead development of at least one policy area from concept to programmatic work.
• Deliver project deliverables in coordination with practitioners and agency leaders.
