Job summary

Elastic, the Search AI Company, seeks a Principal Product Manager to lead strategy and roadmaps for embedding/reranking, vector database, and related capabilities. You will guide vector indexing, hybrid retrieval, and collaboration with engineering and research to meet enterprise needs.

You will own the vision and multi-quarter roadmap, define metrics such as recall, latency, index size, and throughput, and align research, cloud, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in product management, with focus on technical infrastructure, databases, search, or ML/AI platforms.
• Strong knowledge of vector search fundamentals, embeddings, ANN indexing, similarity metrics and trade-offs between recall and latency.
• Experience shipping developer- or infrastructure-facing products adopted at scale.

Responsibilities

• Define the product strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for Elastic's vector database and core search use cases.
• Collaborate with engineering and research to align features with business goals and market needs.
• Establish metrics (recall, latency, index size, throughput, TCO) and defend trade-offs.
• Lead cross-functional teams to execute roadmap with clear communication to stakeholders.
