Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Project Manager for large-scale commercial and adaptive reuse construction in Chicago. You will lead projects from preconstruction through turnover, owning budget, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction on landmark buildings.

The role emphasizes early involvement, collaboration with owners and design teams, and close coordination with in-house trades and VDC/BIM. A strong safety culture is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 7+ years of project management experience on large-scale commercial projects.
• Experience with adaptive reuse, renovation, or historic restoration is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects from preconstruction through turnover, with full ownership of budget, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction
• Run preconstruction work, including estimating support, constructability reviews, value engineering, and procurement planning
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and review agencies
• Manage subcontractor buyout, contracts, change orders, pay applications, and financial forecasting
• Work with in-house trade crews and VDC/BIM team to plan, sequence, and build efficiently
• Lead and mentor assistant project managers, project engineers, and field staff
• Champion a strong safety culture on every site
• Build lasting relationships with clients, design partners, and trade partners
