Job summary

Buildertrend Solutions, Inc. seeks a Senior Product Manager for our Search team to shape how builders find exact items across vast project data. You will drive roadmap for ranking, retrieval and personalization, and lead the shift to model-based, LLM-powered search in production.

You’ll collaborate with engineering and data science, design experiments to measure impact on click-through and relevance, and own success metrics to influence product investments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience with ownership of search, recommendations, personalization, relevance/ranking, or ad-tech systems.
• B2B SaaS experience preferred; candidates from B2C search backgrounds encouraged.
• Experience designing evaluations that measure model impact on outcomes.
• Proven ability to improve search and relevance metrics and tie to adoption, retention, and revenue.
• Experience running algorithmic feedback loops: search, result, evaluation and improvement.
• Familiarity with retrieval and ranking approaches including RAG and model-based search.

Responsibilities

• Define product direction for Search, owning the roadmap for ranking, retrieval and personalization.
• Lead the evolution from keyword-based search to model-based, LLM-powered search.
• Build and refine algorithmic feedback loops using user signals to improve ranking.
• Design and run evals to measure whether search and ranking models meet user goals.
• Collaborate with engineering and data science on data aggregation, model development and serving in production.
• Establish and track success metrics like CTR and match quality to prioritize investments.
• Validate opportunities through experimentation and compare new approaches to current performance.
• Build tight feedback loops with customers to understand search intent and gaps.
