Job summary

Chainguard is securing the software supply chain and is building a new product to empower developers and their agents. You will shape the product direction, own the vision, and work with a small, expert team to bring it from concept to adoption.

You will drive strategy, balance tradeoffs, and deliver a compelling experience for developers. The role requires deep technical insight, a strong track record in product management for developer-focused tools, and the ability to operate with minimal

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience on developer-facing, infrastructure, security, or similarly technical products.
• You've built agent tools, or tools used by developers to build with agents.
• You know CI from the inside: builds, tests, caches, runners, artifacts, merge gates.
• You don't need to be a GitHub Actions expert; broad workflow YAML experience is not the core requirement.
• Experience taking a technical product from idea through launch and iteration.
• Judgment about what to leave out to avoid feature bloat.
• Comfort with a deeply technical engineering team and tradeoff discussions.
• You talk to developers directly and can distinguish what tech people find interesting vs what will be adopted.
• You write well and produce docs.
• You can operate independently in a fast-moving area without a playbook.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy, vision, and roadmap for the product.
• Lead 0→1 product work to transform a working system into a purchasable product.
• Deeply understand how developers and agents build, test, review, and ship software today.
• Engage design partners and turn feedback into priorities.
• Own developer experience, ensuring easy adoption and migration paths.
• Position the product, name it, craft docs and pricing in collaboration with Marketing.
• Provide cross-functional leadership across Engineering, Experience, Product Marketing, and other Product leaders.
