Job summary

Octave in Houston is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the strategy and roadmap for our 3D Modelling solutions—model-based design for plant, piping, and structural designers. You will drive product direction and partner with engineering and design to ship high-value releases.

You will work with owners-operators and EPC firms across oil & gas, chemicals, power, and other sectors to understand workflows, define metrics, and prioritize features that move adoption, retention, and revenue.

Qualifications

• PM with 5+ years end-to-end product ownership.
• Proven track record shipping software with measurable impact.
• Strong technical fluency; can discuss architecture and data models.
• Ability to learn specialized design workflows.
• Prioritization judgment with data-driven decisions.
• Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Influence leadership across engineering, design, and GTM teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, strategy, and multi-quarter roadmap for the 3D Modelling product.
• Talk to users to understand modelling workflows, deliverables, and pain points.
• Deepen the model-based design experience with intelligent components and clash detection.
• Prioritize downstream deliverables like isometrics and GA drawings with accuracy.
• Link 3D modelling to plant lifecycle data and handover to construction and digital twins.
• Evaluate reality-capture workflows for brownfield projects.
• Prioritize opportunities balancing value, impact, and technical effort.
• Collaborate with engineering/design to ship high-quality releases.
• Champion interoperability and open data exchange (ISO 15926).
• Define metrics and use them to guide decisions; support marketing and sales.
